“I like to wait until at least November 1st. But for that I would always wait until Thanksgiving. It depends. Some people want to start a little earlier. Usually I wait until my video I’m doing is called ‘It’s Time’ and then we go from there .Just listen.”

However, she officially announced the start of the Christmas season on November 1 when she released her annual “It’s Time” video with an Addam’s Family twist.
In the video, she channeled Morticia Addams as she appeared dressed in a glittering black dress, a diamond necklace from Kay Jewelers, dark makeup and a black wig. She danced with a man dressed as Gomez Addam before pushing him away, launching a knife at him (although she narrowly missed and punched the painting behind him instead) and smiled at the camera as a red holiday dress appeared and it date countdown began. .
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” started playing after Carey — who was sitting on a sleigh surrounded by presents — announced, “It’s time!”
Then her male costar turned into an animated snowman and the words “It’s Time!” flashed on the screen above a castle, as Carey winked and blew a kiss at the camera.
