Real Lodge or Marketing? A South African Guide to Spiritual Orders

South Africans already know lodges and fraternities. This guide explains how to compare a spiritual order on record, structure and dues instead of promises.

On this page
South Africa is one of the few markets where the average seeker already knows what a lodge is supposed to look like. That raises the bar, and it should.

De Sachiel Solution Forum does not claim a European lineage or an unbroken chain of charters. It is an African-founded interfaith order, established in Nigeria in 1999 and incorporated as a non-profit spiritual body. What it offers is a four-cycle
course of study, oath stages tied to specific levels, published dues and a central administration that answers for its own conduct.

That honesty is the point. South African seekers in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontein are usually comparing three or four options at once, and the ones that survive comparison are the ones that can be checked.

Three practical comparisons:

- **Record:** when was it founded, and under what name is it registered?
- **Structure:** how many levels, what is required to move between them, and what is the study material?
- **Cost:** what is the registration fee, what are the monthly dues, and where is that published?

If a group can answer all three in writing, it is worth a conversation. If it cannot, the marketing is doing work that the organisation should be doing.

South African members join as international applicants, with dues quoted in US dollars, and they are not asked to give up any existing fraternal membership.

The South African guide, with current terms:

*General information only. The Order does not sell degrees, does not promise wealth, and does not operate a temple building in South Africa.*
