Bonnie Chapman – the daughter of Duane ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Chapman and his late wife, Beth Chapman – revealed that she had a negative experience with Ozempic, which led her to try a different weight loss drug.

In one E! News interview published on Sunday, December 1, the A&E alum, 25, opened up about taking the weight loss drug briefly and dealing with the common side effect of nausea.

“I hated it,” she told the outlet. “I couldn’t eat without feeling nauseous. Sometimes I couldn’t eat at all. My body didn’t like it.”

Ozempic is an FDA-approved prescription drug for people with type 2 diabetes. It is one of the brand names for semaglutide, such as Wegovy, which works in the brain to affect satiety. The drug – taken by injection into the thigh, stomach or arm – is popular as a weight-loss aid both in and out of Hollywood.

Although she was hesitant at first, Chapman followed her doctor’s recommendation and switched from Ozempic to another medication, tirzepatide. Tirzepatide – which works by reducing appetite and improving the way the body breaks down sugar and fat – is known by the brand names Mounjaro and Zepbound, competitors to Ozempic and Wegovy.

By taking tirzepatide, Chapman was able to lose 10 pounds (5 kg). in the first two weeks.

“My desires have decreased significantly,” she said. “And once I started seeing that I was getting full a lot less quickly, I was actually able to eat half a portion of my meal. And I was like, ‘Okay, I’m good, I feel really satisfied.’ .’ It really made me feel like I could get somewhere, and it helped me build some really good habits.”

Without dealing with side effects, Chapman said she was able to transform her relationship with food and maintain healthier eating habits.

“One of the things I really love is little snacks,” she explained, noting that she makes kale chips or gets full from a handful of berries. ‘It helped me get that [nutrient-rich foods] without feeling like it was a chore. It helped me feel full and fulfilled.”

Chapman added that she also tries to avoid carbs “at every meal” and limits her sweets. “A lot of the things I really enjoyed are not healthy for me,” she admitted. “And I won’t sacrifice my health for a nice sweet treat.”

“I’ve always been focused on something that will shred the weight,” she told the outlet. Now, after exceeding her weight loss goal and gaining 126 pounds, “I want to turn the weight I have into muscle.”

The star added that another goal she has is to maintain good balance and not rely on food for emotional support.

“Even though food can be comforting, food isn’t going to get you through everything, and that’s something I’ve had to learn along the way,” she said.
